Design & Technology Lab Zürich

At the opening of the Toni-Areals projects of the Design & Technology Lab were presented. A pen plotter sketched graphical elements and information on various projects on an endless paper roll. As a second level, animations were projected onto the paper that interacted with the drawn one. This interaction between digital and analogue enabled a multi-layered explanation of the projects. For this installation, I was able to create more than 50 two- and three-dimensional animations.

The Design & Technology Lab is a cooperation project of the Department of Industrial Design of the ZHdK and the Product Development Group of the ETH Zurich. In the common lab, innovative products are developed for industrial partners. The installation provided insights into such development processes.

The opening of the Toni areal took place on 27./28. September 2014 and was attended by 30,000 people. In addition, this project was shown on November 1, 2014 at Designer's Saturday in Langenthal 16'000 visitors.
