Fotokite Phi

Fotokite Phi is the first drone that takes off on a leash. Thanks to the direct connection between the pilot and the aircraft, the quadrocopter can be driven intuitively and safely like a kite. Photo and film footage from the air will be accessible to everyone. Milan Rohrer Studio was involved as a Industrial Designer for Perspective Robotics AG in the development, from prototype to production readiness. The project attracted over $ 400,000 in 2015 on the crowdfunding platform Indiegogo successfully funded.

The real innovation is the foldability of the quadrocopter, because it can be stored in a tube of only 90mm diameter. Thanks to this size and the low weight of 350g Fotokite can be taken anywhere in the backpack. In a few seconds, the flying camera is ready to go.
